I am 46 and have not run since I left school i am so proud of myself that I have got to week 7 however i have a very painful hip and so am going to have a rest until it is better. When I am recovered which I hope is very soon as I am lovely my running what week should start from again?
Any advice would be very welcome.

Welcome to the forum. How much fitness you lose depends on how long your recovery takes.
Also, may I suggest that you consider seeing your GP or a physio if the pain hasn't got better in a couple of days.
No matter how long you are out, I would make your first run an exploratory one. Just go out and run, see how far you get - only then will you know how you are.
