Didn't get to do tonights run.

I have 2 more runs to do before graduation. I planned to run W9 R2 this evening and W9 R3 on Friday. The pavements are just too treacherous. My main aim is to get to graduation injury free. I'm a bit disappointed because its the first time i have missed a run since starting.

The weather has to be respected... the run will wait and you will enjoy :)

Yes i agree, you cannot mess with Mama Nature.

When the pavements are bad try running on rougher terrain, mud roads(they will be nice and hard) and or grass. A bit of ice needn't be a barrier to getting a run in, though maybe hard if you live in a city without parks.

Don't worry Tess, the extra rest days won't do you any harm, you will do your graduation runs when its safe and reasonable to do so...

The podium will still be there!😊xx

Worth the wait though - nearly there 🤞

Me too should graduate tomorrow but red weather warning where I live x

You've made the right decision by the sound of it. What's the point in graduating and going straight to the injury couch 😉 Think of the extra rest days as just extra prep work to ensure you meet your goal ☺

I share your pain 😟only 1 tantalising run left for me and I just can’t find an ice-free route, without resorting to driving and I’m not doing that either!! I guess we’ll just have to be patient- good luck!

Yep me too..one more week 3 run to do. Will just do some stretches/strength training at home instead. Really don't want to risk a fall.

Was just going to suggest strength / stretch work. Plenty of suggestions on what to do on NHS England web site if you’re unsure of what to do.

I started my run last night and aborted after 2 miles. Wasn't so much slippy but cold!!! Like you I want to get to the end injury free!!

Yes, good decision. I changed my route due to fresh snow obscuring icy patches. Went into the field instead, but couldn't look round at the gorgeous scenery, as the ground was so lumpy. Dropped my guard and tripped over a frozen molehill!

At least it was a mole hill, i can trip up over fresh air :)

Wise decision. Stay safe - it won't be long before you do graduate

I’ve been away 5 days so dying to start week 9 - the final week. The snow started but I ended up running in the snow yesterday on Hackney Marshes. Me, the crows and a flock of redwings. Exhilarating!

I might do Run 2 tomorrow if not too icy. My friends could not believe it 30mins! Slow yes but 30 mins. 8 weeks ago I was thinking yes I think could run for one minute 🏃🏻‍♀️😄

I’m totally with you. I just finished week 8. Obviously slow but I did it. Starting my final week at the weekend

I'm in exactly the same boat. So frustrating!

I know the feeling. I'm delayed starting week 6 by a whole week!! I still don't think I can get out today too much snow and ice!
