Guys i really struggled with this run. Really struggled. Nearly never finished it. I wasn't going to fast. I did my warm up. Are some runs just harder regardless of the capability? I just didn't enjoy it today and up until now I have really enjoyed the feeling. Just not today....all advice welcome π

W6R2 STRUGGLING! Help....
I think some runs are just harder. I've been alternating between really hard runs and, I dare say, really easy runs since week 6 for no obvious reason. Got used to it, actually.
I'd suggest to not overthink it right now and wait and see how the next couple of runs will go.
The first time I did c25k, every run was a real slog. I did it again a few years later and it was much easier. Everyone finds it a bit different, but there's no problem in finding a run a tough challenge. You say you got through it, so that is all that matters. Believe it or not it's the tough ones you gain more from as completing them when your body says no is the definition of stamina.
Don't over analyze or worry about it, just crack on with the next run. You're doing great.
W6 is well documented as a trying week, I think maybe because you go back to intervals and after the euphoric continuous run of W5 R3, it feels slightly as though youβre going backwards.
I recall W6 being the one that βhurtβ most and one that I just gritted my teeth and got through. Funnily enough I had no such issues with W7.
We are all different though and somedays you just have a rubbish run - no particular reasons you just do.
Please donβt let this concern you - running is like every part of life, sometimes you work well other days you donβt. Some nights you sleep well, others you donβt.
Happy running next time out
Thank you for your advice. I appreciate it and totally get what your saying. Yes lookin at previous posts on the same week I can see I am not alone. I need to keep at it.
Are you still resident in Saudi Arabia? Not a particularly hot period. But of course can be.
Reading your posts, and I am a novice,Your doing so well. Good luck with your journey.
No I don't know why it sais that I checked my profile after you said this haha. Need to change. I am in sunny Scotland. Thanks good luck to you too π
Thatβs my country of Birth. The West Highlands. It rains so much there the folks have got webbed feet.πI can prove it.Good luck with your journey.I am impressed with all the experience and advise you have been given.
Yes it rains a lot where I am too haha. Yes the advice I get from here is like no where else. Thanks.
Definitely - so weird can go out all positive and refreshed and run like a drain. Been out sleep deprived and had a great run, you really do have to just go with your flow! But you kept going and thatβs a triumph π₯
Some runs get you... try to relax and let the legs take you...
It could be you are slightly under par, and maybe have a bug or something..take an extra rest day and see how you feel
All of my bad ones were linked up with not resting properly or hydrating enough the day before (it's water a day before not water before the run that counts).
At times l overdid my rest day exercises hence contributing to comedy run on the poor day.
Or you're coming down with something.
On the positive note, you're not a pro, blips aren't counted against you, there won't be a dreaded 'fourth' finish at the world championship.
Simply look after yourself, put it behind you and move on. If you are like me you may want to learn from experience and try to improve.
Enjoy & all the best!
Absolutely! Some days are just not run days ... I found that out early. Week 7 to be precise ... after getting through the notoriously tough Week 6 (so add that to your portfolio too, Week 6 is a bit of a bugger for so many people for some reason) ... after running 2 of the runs in Week 7 I bombed on the third as my legs just wouldn't move! I've since found that 2 and a bit years down the line, there are still some days like that and it doesn't matter how rested, fuelled/not fuelled, up for it/not up for it you are ... you know it's just one of those days. l Advice? Forget it. Next run is a new day, try not to even think back to this one and I guarantee it will be a different outcome ... barring acts of nature, PPI calls and anything else that happens to be the bane of people's lives ...
You're not alone finding Week 6 difficult but you can do this and you did π
I found week 6 hard too. Hated going back to the intervals of running/walking. Found week 7 onwards much easier. So, just keep going, the best is yet to come π
If you finished you finished. A lot of things about this process defy logic--I sometimes found the next step "up" easier than the one before. I once had to leave a big gap between runs and thought I would have fallen back but in fact it all went briliantly.
Your body is changing all the time now so next time will be different.
This run in particular is the hardest in the whole programme, at least it was for me, all 3 times I've done it (I'm now on week 8 of my 3rd C25K... I've graduated and went on to run a few races, but injuries and life took over...so I started again!)
Anyway, don't despair, some runs are just harder than others, or it's just a bad day for you, or the stars are not aligned properly... Get out next time and reset, you've got all the longer runs to look forward to! You are officially a runner now!
Ah but you finished! So you can do it.
Week 7 on is about continuous running, this is where I decided that a Saturday Park run could be useful, warm up , run 25 minutes and walk to the end. Sets up the weekend, gives you something to aim for during the week as well as get useful advice as there are a lot of C25k who go onto Park run.
I also find that a change of route helps.
Thank you very much π
