Double surprise !!

Having always struggled with running I started C25K last year and got to week 4 ok. Then I made the mistake of looking at the runs in week 5 and the gremlins appeared telling me no way could I run for 20 minutes! so I gave up 😕

Anyway new year new start, I began again and last week got to the dreaded week 5 again. Determined not to give in to the gremlins this time I completed runs 1 and 2 and then on Saturday I ran for 20 minutes on run 3!!! Very slowly but still completed it without stopping.

That was my first surprise - I could actually run for 20 minutes 🎉

On Wednesday I completed week 6 run 1 and found on Thursday that I had a pain in one of my knees that I hadn’t experienced before. I was planning to complete run 2 tonight but think I should have another day of rest. So to surprise number 2 - I am actually upset that I can’t get out and run. This running lark is becoming addictive 😂

It's a slippery slope to runner's anonymous. You end up buying more trainers than a teenager and more lycra than an all in wrestler...

The addictiveness is shocking; I get really narky if i get to a third day with no run now... what on earth happened?

Hope the knee clears up quickly so you can get out there again, but no risks; RICE until better!

Well done for passing the W5R3 hurdle. Hope the knee improves soon. Extra rest day sounds a good idea,
