At this time of the year, I always find myself, like many of us, with a heart full of love and a head-full of thoughts and memories..
I ran the last run of 2017 yesterday morning... a sentimental journey, over part of my Graduation route of 2015...just me and the thoughts tumbling around my head...
A couple of years ago.. I posted this..as a Christmas Wish.. and unapologetically, I have tweaked it to post again..because, two years on...it still holds true.
The first day of a brand New Year
For this Forum Family
The running path leads onward
Wherever we may be
At crack of dawn, or close of day
Blistering heat or icy-chill.
Whether at home or far away
We friends are running still
In early morn, at break of day
Our runners lace their shoes
Or after work they make their way
All care and woe to lose
The winds of change may come and go
Our paths are not the same.
However hard those winds may blow
The friendship will remain.
Friends old and new, all on their way
My New Year Wish for You
Is Peace and Love and Happy Runs
Today and this whole year through.
With love, to each and every one of my running companions.
Wishing you all that you would wish for yourselves, and those whom you love.

Thanks a lot, Oldfloss, for this lovely, touching poem that says it all. Another great way to start the year! Many wonderful things again for this year!
Thank you, Floss! And a Happy New Year to you, too. May you stay fit and healthy, enjoy your time with little Miss Runner in Training and continue to be a wise mentor for us all.
Two years running is incredible. Where did the time go?
So pleased to have 'met' you and benefited from your wise words in 2017. You've really been an inspiration and support and wouldn't have done my first 5k yesterday without it!
Happy New Year - I hope 2018 brings you more of what you love.
Wishing it all right back at you lovely Floss. What a beautiful sentiment to start a new year with. We may all be far flung, yet we are close knit. Joy to the wonderful running tribe for 2018.
Thank you Floss, this is beautiful and has put a smile on my lurgy ridden face this morning.
The happiest and most positive things that happened in 2017 were finding this amazing running family and slothing my way through C25K (a miracle in itself).
So here’s to a New Year with new running adventures for us all to share.
With much gratitude and love, I wish you and yours a very happy and peaceful New Year.
Have been off this forum for a while, hectic December, daughters wedding!
Have just read your post , thank you for that and wishing you and everyone every happiness ,lots of joy and fun running.
Went back to park run this morning and more of a stroll than a run !
Got me moving again and back on track anyway 🏃♀️🏃♀️

Happy New year to you oldfloss and may your wise words continue. I myself am feeling nothing for this new year as I have now left my brother in 2017. I don't have any hopes for 2018 but I do have an impending hm in April. I started with a new year parkrun followed by a mile jog home however I have a long way to go!
Oh runfasterdoyle, I feel the pain of your loss. The joy of life is never so bright once you have lost someone close. Christmas only seems to heighten the poignancy and the sadness.
Good luck with the training for the hm. As said by others, carry him in your heart and think how proud of you he would be.
Beautiful photo and fine words, happy New Year to you and yours Oldfloss. I may not post here often nowadays but I'm still in the game and never forget that it was c25k that started it all for me!
That’s beautiful...it’s brought a tear to my eye!! I love my running family, they prop me up, spur me on & inspire every run I do...thanks Floss..& a happy, peaceful, ground covering 2018 to you 😉 xxx
A little late to respond.. but what lovely words Oldfloss! We all know where to find each other I guess, this forum is a very special place. Happy New Year and here's to the wonderful runs ahead!🙂🏃🏽♀️x
