I woke late for me, 7am instead of the usual 5am, and was undecided as to whether or not run or leave it until later. Enthusiasm got the better of me and I decided to run. Running late I decided to run up from the bottom of the hill but that was my undoing. I limped through 20 minutes only although covered 3.43km. Having the distraction of not much time I rushed it and couldn't get into my usual rhythm.
Not my finest hour so will attempt that run again tomorrow after uni. I'm having problems fitting my runs in this week as I'm out of the door early, 7am, every day this week apart from today.
I much prefer running in the morning.
Still, each run is an opportunity to learn something.
Happy running

I'm out by 7am at the latest this week and not back until about 6.30pm. It is difficult for me to get out during the day as a) I'm in lectures or meetings b) there is nowhere for me to have a shower after my run.
I'll just have to try again tomorrow then Friday and Sunday. That should be ok. Next week should be back to normal and it would have been ok today but I had to be back for a meeting so couldn't concentrate on the run. It's not a problem but it was just a little disappointing
How brave of you to run up hill! This is far from a failed attempt: you may have not completed the 25 mns but you ran up for 20 mns. So well done! And you may perhaps not do that run again but try to run R2 on more even ground. And the idea is to run 3 times within 7 days, but if you can't because of a tight schedule, don't worry: you'll still get the stamina from your previous runs as long as you follow the mantra: slow and steady.
Thanks, Anthie. I don't have much choice as I'm surrounded by hills. I normally do a 10-15 minute warm up walk up the hill and then do the run. Sometimes I do the last bit up the hill at a run but doing the whole lot was too much for me today.....There was a woman walking at the same time as me but she had to stop twice to catch her breath just walking. It's a gain of about 93m in elevation so I suppose I should have known better
One day I will run up it but not this side of Christmas
