Skipping a week ?

Completed week 1 and I’m thinking about going straight to week 4. I have been doing some training prior to starting and wanted this program to add more structure. Not sure if I’m pushing it to early.

Are you in a rush? Do you have somewhere to be? A bus to catch?.....I’d just do the programme as it is designed. It will help you to become a runner over 9 weeks. Enjoy😊

I’m with Hidden on this one. The danger of skipping is you miss out on the gradual build of distance and stamina. You can run on the plan every other day and that as I understand it makes it a couch to 5k in 8 weeks. But I guess it depends what training you’ve been doing prior. I am not an expert, but if you’ve been doing lots of aerobic based exercise and feel no ‘stretch’ on any of the runs so far, maybe it’s worth trying one of the W2 runs to see if it feels easy?

Generally on this forum you’re unlikely to get advice to tell you to cut out weeks as it is the support forum for folk doing the 9week C25K programme. I guess ‘couch’ is the key word here, it really is designed for folk who haven’t done any/ much exercise.

Whatever you choose to do, I hope you enjoy your running.

Just follow the programme for a structured safe way to graduation 😉

I suppose you’re right, I do tend to get impatient. I’ll see how week 2 goes

Why risk injury? That will really slow your progress. Almost all the people posting on here with serious injuries are people who got impatient and pushed too hard. The programme builds slowly for a good reason.

Yes, she is right, and w2 will be just as hard as w1....

The programme has been devised by experts, although there's no hard and fast rules it's structure hasn't been taken lightly, which shows if completed properly, that it works..
