Yay! Nailed it! Although strava tells me this was my slowest run yet. I find that as the running intervals get longer and longer I am getting slower and slower but for someone who struggled to do a minute of running, 5 min was a great feeling! Plus I found I was recovered in a minute or so which also makes me happier.....Super pleased😀😀😀
Week 5 run1: Yay! Nailed it! Although strava... - Couch to 5K
Week 5 run1
Well done & you should be pleased its a great achievement & you feel so goid after a run too😊its funny im slower when running longer but hey we are running 🏃🏃slow & steady the way to go!! Speed can be built on afterc25k. Keep going the program works😊
Well done you!
As the runs get longer, you get the wonderful chance to, really, slow down and relax into the runs...letting your legs find their own happy pace. Mine will be different to yours as will everyone elses
Try not to focus on speed at all, just be so proud of the way in which you are progressing.... and the way you are getting stronger and fitter Speed and distance comes...
Hiya can u run strava along this app and still have music playing ? I’m unsure of distance unless I run on the treadmill . Just curious really as I’m rubbish at techno . Ooh and great job nailing it xx
I use an iPhone and started using Strava to log my runs and listening to the app at the same time and Apple Music app. It worked fine. Before using Strava I was using RunKeeper and that worked the same. not sure what Strava does when tracking indoors on treadmill but on RunKeeper you can set track mode to Stopwatch instead of GPS. Both apps can be set to make announcements on distance and time - you might want to disable this to prevent it interrupting your mentor if on the early runs.
Thanks Richard I’m on week 9 so more curious than ever to track distance. I’m hoping Father Christmas is going to bring me a garmin watch 😀 but for now I’ll get my hubby to download strava . I use an iPhone 6 so that’s great . Thanks again x
Brilliant well done. Slow and steady wins the race. I loved the transition in week 5 🏃🏼♀️
Sounds to me that you have the perfect strategy.
That will carry you through to graduation, comfortably and with minimal injury risk, and then you can go on to work on speed.
Well done.
