Ok so I completed my 30 min runs, and not too exhausted because I run very slowly, but no where near 5K more like 2k.
So the question is do I try to run for longer at the same pace to cover the 5k. Or do I try to run faster and cover the 5K in 30 mins. So is it speed or distance I need to aim for?
Any suggestions please

The answer is.... just run and keep on running... if you want to do 5K, keep running, keep consolidation and let it just evolve... I would always opt for building up slowly.. never pushing..just running for pure joy varying your routes and enjoying the journey...
Run, because you can.... do the 30 minute runs.. but at your own pace.. the more you do the stronger you get...and... you will be amazed where slow and steady gets you!!!
What you do next depends where you want your running to take you.
Just enjoy your ability without increasing the demands for a few weeks
Parkrun might provide inspiration. You don't have to run it all. On the newsletter this week they said that times across the country varied from 14 minutes to 1 hour 11 minutes. You will be welcomed and supported.
Well done graduate, don't forget to request your badge of honour! The programme is intended to get you running for 30 mins and you did it! Amazing and step up to the podium 🏆🍾🥇
Congratulations! I graduated a few days ago and am also slow, slow, slow. Who cares?! I'm now running 30 minutes or so every other day - I didn't think that would ever be possible. Did you? I'm just going to keep getting out there and getting more 30 minute runs under my belt and building my stamina up until the new year and then make a plan. Perhaps that might work for you, too?
Keep up the 30 min runs, don't worry about distance...you will do 5k in time, but just need to gain stamina so you can run for longer...regular running will make you stronger.
