I've just completed the C25K- and only just found out about this community πI really could have used it a few weeks ago!
So although I've completed all the runs, I'm not yet at 5k- I'm definitely a shuffler I'm looking for 'what next' tips. I'm really going to miss Jo Whiley encouraging me along.

Yeay... you found us now though,,, so stick around, we rock
How long since you completed ?
If recently, well, now is the time for loads of consolidation of the 30 minute runs... get the three runs a week organised, always making sure that you get 30 minutes in... try some different routes maybe, some short runs and then some longer,'just see where you get to' runs.. then maybe after a couple of weeks or so,, try the C25K_ podcasts... they are really structured and give a lot of support to the different disciplines in our running...
Great fun too..
Keep posting and you will get loads of support and encouragement to take you onto the next step of this great running adventure. Bridge to 10K is there too after a few weeks if you feel you want to head on a bit further
The 5K may or may not come.. most folk never manage it in the 30 minutes in the C25K nine weeks and some never do,, they don't always want to... Many are half marathon and Marathon runners too There have been loads of posts and surveys on this on the forum.. makes interesting reading
Hi! Congratulations on completing C25K!!! ππββοΈ
I graduated a few weeks ago. Lots of people have said how they feel a bit lost when the structure of the C25K programme has finished. Some continue to run for a few weeks with the W9 podcast to keep momentum going.
I have done some consolidating at 30mins, and have started joining in with my local Parkrun on a Saturday morning at 9am. There are lots all over the country so maybe there is one near you if you are interested. You could check out their website. I can't do 5K in 30 mins either, and probably never will, but I enjoy my runs and that's what it's all about for me.
I've downloaded the C25K+ podcasts that Oldfloss mentioned. I haven't started them yet though.
Some like to use an app to see how they improve, track where they've been, and set new goals. Map My Run, Strava and lots of other apps can be downloaded onto a smartphone so you can see how you're progressing.
I'm sure the others will have lots more great suggestions for you too. You're in the right place to get loads of support, help and advice. π
Well done & congratulations and so glad you found us now to help us get to the endπππππ!! And an extra well done as I donβt think i could have managed without the loads of encouragement & help on this forum πI graduated this time last year & managed to keep running till probably jan/feb had a fall nothing major but knocked my confidence but twice i went back to week 6 to build up again but I didnβt keep posting or checking in to the forum as felt a bit of a failure ( bad word no such thing as failure on here just temporary slipsπ) so im back started at week 3 & now on week 6 later today. But why i say this is for me its so important after graduation to keep in touch we all need encouragement, tips for keeping going, loads of great newbies, & great ideas of what to do after. I missed the structure of c25k but this time after graduation, as i will finish againπ, i am going to try 3 times a week 2 varying speed , 1 long one at weekends building to 5k as im a slow... runner & then just enjoy running.. so ideasπ€ continuity of 3 times a week , parkruns & then once you feel up for a challenge bridge to 10kπand a forum there too!! Happy running π
Congratulations to you!! At least you have found us now which sounds to be an important time too. I hope you feel mighty proud of your achievements. Running for 30 mins!!
I am just about to start Week 9, so not far behind you. The podcasts sound good, where do we find them?
I'm a shuffler.....or, a plodder, as I call it! My friend who has run lots of marathons says that a slow pace is the best way to build up stamina without injuring yourself.....this fits with how I like to do things!
I'm just about to start week 8 so I've thought of what I'd like to do next, I'm intending on seeing what I can do in the 30 minutes, but still having fun, I don't think it will be something I want to do in a serious, competing sense, I think that might suck all the fun out of it for me.
I'll be interested to see what you move on to, it's nice to read about people who are a little further ahead!
