I have completed week 3 and I am so proud, even though at the end of my runs and I beetroot red and utterly breathless. Safe to say I am not a natural runner. But I am determined!
I'm worried about week 4. 3 mins of running is a struggle so how will I handle 5!? Any tips!?
Thanks

Two words. Relax and Believe. Believe in the plan and believe in yourself. It’s just running, there is no need to be nervous or apprehensive, take it slow and steady. I couldn’t run for 5 minutes either back in March. Now because of the plan I can run for 1 hour and 15 mins. Enjoy the journey.
I have also just completed week 3 and, like you, wondering how I'm going to manage running for 5 minutes!!! I'm looking forward to giving it a go though and feeling very determined!!!
Two more words (And damienair used them already): Slow and Steady.
You're achieved 3 minutes of running. And now you've got 5 minutes to tackle. So set off a little slower than before, try and keep something in reserve. If possible, try and run a different route to last week. It can be hard running past the place where you stopped to walk last week.
OMG you are at the BEST portion of the programme. Be prepared to be stunned and amazed at your awesome body in weeks 4 and 5. Know that you can do it. Slow and steady, grind it out. And when you do it you will feel a sense of success and achievement that is pure gold! We all did it and you can too. My tip is: believe, try, and you will succeed.
I was also nervous about Week 4 as not ever been able to run. This programme is designed to build your fitness and stamina through each week. You will surprise yourself. I’ve just completed Week 5 and have been amazed. Go out there and take the advice of others and the coach. Nice and slow. Week 4 is yours for the taking. Enjoy it. You can do it 😀
I was just like you and I have just finished week 4. It was definitely the biggest mental block for me and now it has been happily smashed. I would just say don't be afraid to slow down. I'm running slower than I did in weeks 1 and 2 but certainly getting more of a work out. Running is running, even if it's not fast. Then if you have the strength stored up, you can run a bit quicker for the last run. Good luck!
Guess what - I felt exactly the same when I was about to embark on Week 4. To boot, I had to do the first run without my faithful companion (my son) running alongside for encouragement. I set off thinking, "If I stop and walk no-one will know" but then realised the only person I would be cheating would be me. So I set off determined to do it - and I did! The first 5 minute section was the toughest but once I had done that I knew I could do the rest of the run. So have faith in yourself and the app and enjoy the satisfaction when you have done it.
