Not sure the 'go faster' hat helped!!

W8 commenced this morning in the 26* heat, sunglasses & (Mr RRD's) hat in hand to doubly avoid squinty eyes. I'm not going to say it was an easy or enjoyable run, but managed the full 28mins! The best part was the cool down walk which ended in a lay down on the beach!!

I envy you, having a beach to cool down on. And well done for completing the run, even if you didn't enjoy it. That shows dedication. :-)

Only for this week I'm afraid! Not sure I liked the sand in places it shouldn't be tho 😂😂

Did you run on the sand ? I am going away and it will be week 8 I do not want to give up having got this far but dreading the heat ? is it really horrid?

I prefer to run in the heat in England, but at 8 in a morning it was about 26* and even tho the sun was not properly out very sticky. I don't run on the beach because I'm pretty sure it would knack my knees, but here there is a walkway most of the way along the beach & harbour. You'll do great take water out with you & try to go early, it's worth it, when you finish & go for breakfast 🍳!!

Well done and what a great pic. The lying down on the beach bit sounds great but not sure about it going to the places it shouldn't!

Yeah it wasn't until I got into the shower, that I discovered all the sand, it wasn't pleasant😬😬

Aha the wrong kind of runners grit!

RRD I think you have to choose now are you a raspberry diva girl or going for Ferrari Rosso? as you know from the paint shade chart, we can't double up, we have to choose our colours carefully!

Love the cool down method though, especially doing your first 28 in 26 degrees - that's really good. I love your " and what is so unusual about lying half in the water with my running kit on" look. A total winner!

Def a raspberry diva look, the Ferrari Rosso is just too fast for me!! It's going back to my husband for his golf 🏌 I don't know what you mean to me it's perfectly normal to lay on the beach in my running gear (altho nobody around so no funny looks!!)

Challenge you to do it with an audience size bigger than your family!

Hmm do you mean just my husband & child or the typical Irish, 1 of 6, mother 1 of 8 family? 😂😂😂

Because that would be pushing it!!

in reply to Runningraspberrydiva

Hah you're not fooling me with that one, I can do family number oneupmanship. Do you mean in my case one of 6, step mum one of 9, and present niece and nephew count up to 22.? You know this is the challenge for a full beach worth of interested viewers, when you do your sand and surf angel.

Ok you beat me on the niece & nephew front!!! Altho cousins & their kids could manage that!!

I'll have to see what I can do on my next run 😂😂
