Just stopped running...lots of comfort eating and gained weight. Should I go back to week 1? I don't want to give up but lethargy and greed have resurfaced their ugly heads😧

Running and a weight loss journey both require discipline. That discipline has to come from you and needs to be backed by self motivation.
Why do you want to do this? Do you want to be fitter? Do you want to have better mental health? Do you want to statistically reduce your risk of a whole range of conditions associated with being overweight and inactive, such as diabetes and heart disease? Do you just want to be happier within yourself?
Only you know what your motivation is, so it is only you that is stopping yourself. You posted here, so I suspect that you want a kick up the proverbial..............I can put my boots on, if you want.
Start back at W1, with a determination that you are going to continue. If W1 is very easy, then move on. We can support you but we can't do it for you.

I wondered where you had gone.!!!! Oh my.... !
Missed your posts!
Well.. you are back here now... and we shall do our very best to support you!
I think you had just finished Week 5...so you were well on the way....Week 6, can be a tricky little blighter, so it may be an idea to work back gently.
I have had an injury and a long IC spell and have had to work back in very, very, very slowly, it works
But, unless you really feel weighed down by it all, I would not think that going back to Week 1 is necessary
If the lethargy gremlin is the dominant one..it needs crushing! Structure and a plan will help too...would Week 4 make a good starting point... ? If you feel too much too soon then Week 3?
Slow as you like, but a goal to go for...maybe first a gentle slow walk/run with no timing in mind to test your legs out? I did a warm up walk of a mile on Sunday...just to be sure of my legs!
So... the healthy eating regime needs to be featured in there... are you on the Weight Loss Forum too, many chums form here are there too and it really is a great combination?
When are you going to head out... today.. or tomorrow... think of a route, friendly and flat... tell us when that is going to be... we will come with you... I will be the one whispering slow, and steady!! Tell us the time for the run please!
You have done this before... you will do it now. Trust the programme and know you are going to succeed, you are back with friends:)x

I'd suggest starting up again at W5R1. If that's a bit tough, you could try W4, but I bet you could do W5R1, and that will give you a confidence boost to carry on. Stock up on healthy snacks like nuts, fresh fruit and veggies (e.g. carrot sticks) and be ruthless about binning the processed ones. When 'hunger' strikes, have a glass of water. Think about how pleased you'll be at the end of the summer!

Welcome back!
I would do one run from each week until you feel you have found your peak. Then follow the programme from there on.
You can do this🏃🏻♀️

Where you start depends how long it has been and how you feel. Just start back somewhere and see how you feel.
I have comfort eaten recently - blamed it on the last full moon. The fact you have posted suggests a turn back to the right direction.

Come on, get a grip. It's not comfort eating is it. Keep moving to keep you motivated.
Big girl pants on. Get cracking!

Start back near the beginning again, move on if so easy, oh! And STOP the overeating, we are all watching you and will be checking!👀😊
Come on and don't stop running! Don't give up. Keep going and keep posting, you can lose weight.
Just had a chance to check my phone and OMG you guys are awesome!!!!!! Thanks so much. So yes I need a kick up the bum, yes I need my big girl pants on😂. Old floss you missed me, how lovely. I guess the lethargy comes from mental health and gremlins so yes I need to be tough with those. I'm going to be back to posting to let you lovely chaps know how your support works! I have unprocessed foods...good to go xxx

Lots of us have had several set backs before we finished the programme. It will make it even more satisfying when you get there ! Forget about what has happened and just get back out there. Good luck x

It's pouring rain outside. I had problems with my legs giving out the last few runs. I literally cannot afford to get flu/injury....but...
I remember how good running is for me and to me. I am continuously amazed that I am a runner and am darn grateful that I am one.
I don't want to go out the door in an hour or so, believe me. I am feeling a bit battered and tired and don't want to add "drenched" and "sore" to those.
However - my run will more than compensate. I know this even while my body says "Do it tomorrow - it will be easier then"
But - we never give up a good habit "today" do we?
We give it up "tomorrow".
I'm glad that in a while I will feel wet and maybe leg-hurty Far better than feeling older than my years and totally slobbish like I used to.
The Gremlins are strong - but certainly not unbeatable
Thanks John wise words😊
