So I am now a few weeks post grad and have been despairing (well feeling a bit disgruntled!) at my lack of progress with speed. I have been dong stepping stones and shaving little bits of time off but my pace continues to cause the mapmyrun lady to sound sarcastic.
So today I thought I would just relax and embrace my inner snail... I just ran 6K, BOOM!
Nice one! Always nice when we take pressure off ourselvesππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈ
I'm trialling a plan which alleges it will get me running 10k in five weeks, however the first week is only three 2k runs and the next five runs are between 4-5k. then 7k .... allegedly! I've enjoyed the short runs anyway π
We come so far in this programme over the 9 or so weeks that, when we graduate and progress seems to slow down, it is hard to keep up with momentum. And we all need to see progress in order to keep motivated.
So if one thing isn't working, try another - and I'm sure that by increasing your distance you will also become faster over the 5k as well. Well done Hidden !
Yup, I have done so much better since I eased off the post 5K plans and ran just what I felt like each day.
And now I feel ready to push myself a bit more, well at the end of August as I have a few trips planned and I will just run wherever I find myself in the meantime. Luckily no mountains will be involved
