Hi! So to put it frankly I'm a 5'8 5'9 (it's debatable) boy who weighs 15 stone I've done my first week of couch to 5K and I'm starting to think of ways to lose weight on the side of runs. Any tips? ๐

Well done for starting this great programme. Welcome
The losing weight? Eat less move more works..
C25K is not intended as a weight loss programme, but linked with a healthy eating regime, is a real winning combination. You should feel fitter, mentally and physically and feel leaner and trimmer
Rest days, ( essential between your runs ) are the days for other exercise, core strength and resistance. all helping the progress. Walking, or cycling, yoga or walking, swimming, climbing cross training and the NHS strength and Flex exercises are good too All this will work in your favour

So... slow and steady on the programme, keep posting for great support and advice and encouragement Good luck!

Well done on starting and taking those first few steps out the door. Weight loss with just C25k is a slow process just on its own. I know many including me have used myfitnesspal along side the C25k program and had a good result with it. The main thing learning to run will do is help to change your attitude as to how you view your food. At the moment it is something that is separated from your body. The more you run the more you start to realise food is fuel so you view it totally differently and start to make better choices organically as you want to feel better when you run. So running is not a diet as such over time it helps to give you confidence to accept your body is an amazing machine and as that happens you find a new respect for what your body is capable off. All this just from keeping taking those steps out the front door. Good luck.

15 stone is my target! (i'm 6'2)
I've lost almost 12 stone in 18 months. Started C25K in July 2016 (after 5st loss). Combination of healthy eating and exercise is the reason. I recommend myfitnespal to track your food and drink intake. I've logged everything that goes in my gob for the last 523 days in a row - you do get used to it!
I can now run 13.1 miles (slowly) and run 4/5 days a week, 3-6 miles a session.
My marathon training starts in September.
You CAN lose weight but not with running alone.
Worth mentioning that I have not cut ANYTHING from my diet -I still drink and eat take-aways, but MUCH less often.
