W4R1 started extremely well but half way through I pulled my calf muscles...AGONY! Completed the session though, running very slowly. Any advice on treating a pulled calf? Currently have an ice pack on the injury. Really disappointed that I may not be able to complete W4 this week now...😫

Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation (RICE) is the runner's mantra for minor niggles. Ibuprofen straight after an injury can keep inflammation minimal and reduce secondary damage from swelling, although should not be used for extended periods.

Patience is the other crucial ingredient in a successful recovery. Good luck.
