Reason #1 to love running: The feeling when you exceed your own expectations of yourself (again and again)

Me, half an hour before my run:

“I really don’t want to go for a run. I’m tired, I’ve got a headache, I’m starving AND it’s raining. I’m going to hate it. I’ll never be able to run 6.5km. I’ll have to have at least one walking break. But I’d better go as I have been putting this run off for a few days. But I'm really not in the mood."

Me, half an hour after my run:

“I’m so glad I went for a run, it was great! The weather was perfect for running, nice and cool, and I ran a whole 7.1km and I hardly even felt out of breath! I’m so proud of myself! I feel great! That was the best run I've had in ages! I needed that ... And to think, I so nearly didn't go!”

Running: ‘nuff said. (Feeling it now, though!)
