I just don't want to move on! W1 is getting manageable now but still a struggle - no dizziness or gasping for breath! Not sure how you know when you are ready to move on?!

First of all congratulations and well done on finishing week one!

I would say if you can complete it without dizziness or gasping for breath you are ready to move on. What do you mean by still a struggle? The plan does require you to push yourself, it isn't easy.

My advice would be to give wk 2 ago, and if it takes 7 runs to complete wk2 then so be it. To keep on repeating wk1 isn't going to push you on, and to be honest will get fairly boring. If Wk2 run 1 does turn out to be really difficult you can always go back to week one.

Wk 2 asks you to do 90secs running with a longer recovery time. So evein if you cant do the full 90secs, but can do more than your 60secs of wk1 you are still making progress.

The official line is 'once you have completed a run 3 times you move on to the next week'. So, if you have successfully completed week 1 3 times (that doesn't mean it was easy - just that you were running when it said run and walking when it said walk!), then move on and try week 2. The program works - so why not try the next one and see how you get on?

Well done! do the times of the weeks and move on, even though they felt tough, you've completed them successfully. You need to move on to complete the programme, try not to think about going back to the previous week..😊

Move on up t'wards your destination 😃 Another week, a new challenge. As long as you go very steadily you should be fine. Have fun ☺

Why not give Week 2 a go and see how it feels? What's the worst that can happen?

I was convinced I wouldn't be able to do anything beyond week one so completely understand how you feel! I'm truly flabbergasted that I managed week 3 run 1 today. I really think you should just go for it - you won't know until you try... Amaze yourself!

Thank you for your support - of course you were right, I just needed to push myself on a bit. I chose a flat place to run and and for the first time I ran with a friend and it is so much easier. The extra recovery time really helped and I actually enjoyed it. Have now completed W2R2 and looking forward to R3. There are times when I just want to stop but somehow you just convince yourself to keep going. Good luck all - look forward to hearing how you're getting on!
