Depends how you feel I think. If you think you can carry on, do. If it were me though, I'd repeat it. No reason why you can't repeat as many runs as you like until you're comfortable.

It might help to not to think of them in terms of weeks, they're milestones. Move on to the next one when you're ready, doesn't really matter when that actually is.

W1 runs 1, 2 and 3 are all the same. There are some folks on here who've stopped and started again and repeated the odd week, I'm only on wk 1 myself. I think my advice would be, (since when i get stuck it's what i've told myself i'm going to do) is do the run again, and once you have managed all 8 run bits call it Run 1 complete and then repeat for w1r2 and 3.

If you did 4 run bits, aim for 6 then all 8 or do extra brisk walking, mix it up a bit however you like :)

I think it's all about progressing at your own pace, put the rest days in-between, a couple of rest days if you like, and if it takes 2 weeks to crack the W1 runs so be it :) there's no rush or rule book

Oh and watch your speed, before couch to 5k podcasts I'd been out and pushed way to hard too soon - nearly put myself off and it took the gentle persuasion of my best friend (who runs) to get me to try again

Let us know how you doing :)

At least it's not just me then. I finished the first run last night and I was ready to stop at the fourth run, begging to stop at the sixth, but got to the end through something greater than willpower; my wife was watching me run.

I think some people are going to really struggle to get started, but I told myself I would do what I can. If I can't finish, I've told myself I'll add another 'week one' run to the end. Yes, I might end up doing W1 R3 on a Wednesday and end up starting week 2 on a Friday, but I definitely think that I'd personally prefer to get through three days of a 'full' run before moving on.

I can definitely see where you are coming from when you say it just couldn't be done, so I suppose you just have to keep pushing and doing what you can until you make it.
