Best bit of running kit?

Wondering what is the best bit of running kit you have? I love all of it by the way, my wardrobe is at least a third full of running items. I have been good, I only have 2 pairs of trainers - one for everyday, one for trails but I have been running now for a year and so birthdays and Christmas too have boosted my running stuff collection.

One of my favourites is my headtorch. It only cost twenty pounds and it opens up the possibility of running in the dark mornings or nights after work. It is re-chargeable too so no annoying batteries. I feel it is safe to run in the dark too because I can see the pavement and avoid the trip hazards. I have tripped a few times before - twice in the woods, twice in the town so I know I must stay on my feet at all costs.

What is your favourite piece of running gear and why?

My Garmin. It's tracked most of my runs since partway through the program. I get to follow my progress, see how I do run over run, month over month and year over year.

Over the past 2.5 years, I've gotten faster, slower, run longer and dropped down to less than 5k. Running changes through life. But with my Garmin I get to track my progress, and no matter how short or slow a run, the numbers still go into that lifetime of kilometres run which is amazing.

That is so true, running does go through seasons doesn't it? I did the C25K and worked up to doing 5k, then I started going further and legs told me off and had one week off and had to slow down, got up to 10k and my calves were sore during runs - had to introduce run-walking. Right now, feel strong and running further at a nice steady speed. Whatever happens we find a way!

I love my Garmin F10' my Led Lenser head torch and my Kinvara 5 running shoes, my buff and my MP3 player in equal measure. YAy! Can't wait to put em all on again soon. 😀

I love my "ifitbelt" - like a flip belt but cheaper. It holds my phone, my inhaler and my specs. Sorted!

I'm not going to count my phone, so my favourite bits of kit are my shoes - both pairs, cos they both let me run without aches and pains! - and my chest light :)

For winter running, for example, my favourite pieces of attire/equipment are without doubt my cold-weather compression leggings, ensuring that working muscles retain warmth, so that performance isn't impaired.

I should really say my snazzy new shoes (bought in the January sales) but actually my favourite is my bright pink Karrimor jacket....so light but keeps me warm, practical with good pockets for dog lead, treats, tissues etc and it is even shower proof - love it!

Ps love the photo!

My Garmin, I love to have a record of where I've run and my progress. Second are my leggings, they give my legs a lot of support!
