Hi there. Newbie here. I don't seem to be able to get the NHS podcasts to open on my Samsung phone. Any advice I feel like ii am failing before I begin.

Welcome! You're not failing, it's just what we would call a technical hitch! We all have then - usually while out running!!

If you click on Tools > My Files it should show recent files at the top (including any downloads). The podcasts download as a zip file, so you need to click on the file and then click on extract. It should then extract the file.

I just download the week or run that I want so I don't get confused!!

What app do you use to play music on your phone? That might make a difference too.

Hope that helps :)

Thank you, I am definitely not technically minded! However followed your clear instructions and it says my phone doesn't support it. I think I need to download a zip file thingy like I did for my tablet. I think I will dig out my ancient iPod and see if I can get it on that. I only use you tube to play music lol. Hopeless! Thank you so much though I will not give up. I am inspired by people on here. X

I used my iPod when I first started as I didn't have anywhere to carry my phone! All the podcasts can be downloaded through iTunes. Just make sure it is fully charged before you go out (we have all done that on here!). :)

If it helps, you can download the podcast onto a pc or laptop and simply copy them to the phone (put them into the music folder). I use the standard Samsung "music" app to play them.

Thank you. Will give it a try.

Hope you get it sorted. For what it's worth the podcasts are more stable than the app which can be glitchy. Good luck with your new adventure !

I installed Podcast Addict to handle them, but the suggestion to copy them into a music folder should also work.

Someone else asked this question just a couple of days ago and got some really clear instructions from someone, you might be able to search and find it.

Good luck. Happy New Year!

I tried this on my android tablet and it works....

Search for and install Podcast Player - Free. Open app on your phone, click the spyglass search icon at top right. Type NHS couch and a list should appear with the C25K podcast at the very top. Click on the plus sign, and the series will be added to your phone (clear the details window that appears by hitting your back arrow). Click on the C25K and you'll see a list of all the episodes to play.

I believe podcasts are for the Apple iPhone & iPod only, downloaded from iTunes off a computer, you can use an app but they can tend to be unstable and crash..

Here's a link to the C25K MP3 files (along with others) that you can hopefully download to your phone and "play" like any other music file.

I unzipped the files on my Samsung S6 then deleted the zipped versions to save memory. The unzipped versions then play through Amazon music - or whichever app you prefer 😊

You need to download a program/app that can unzip files. I use Winzip which is a free app on Google Playstore. I downloaded this directly on to my Samsung S6 and could then unzip them directly.

Alternatively you can download them onto a computer and then transfer the podcasts across.

Hope this helps.

The WinZip is what I put on my tablet to solve the same issue. I have now got the podcast on my iPod but will have another go on my phone. Thank you
