Supposed to start week 9 this week but started new job Wednesday which with adapting to long commute and well just getting my head around everything has meant no running since Tuesday. Tried run 1 this morning but abandoned it at 12 minutes as not enough oomph! At least I did something but frustrated at it all getting postponed after a pretty consistent 8 weeks. Now..do I try again tomorrow or give myself another couple of days rest and start Tuesday on my next day off??
Week 9 gremlins: Supposed to start week 9 this... - Couch to 5K
Week 9 gremlins
I would give it the couple of days rest Beelady. If you go out again tomorrow you will be putting some pressure on yourself to 'succeed' and also maybe have and increased potential for injury by not taking the rest day.
You have done so well why risk it? Let yourself adjust and relax into your new routine and the running will also adjust and relax - remember, as well as 'slow and steady' keeping it enjoyable gets us through these hiccups also
anyhow - whichever route your choice is, MASSIVE best wishes for you on it
See how you feel! We all have bad runs at times and it's annoying to come on Week 9 but remember, W9R3 is not the 'finish line' - there is no hurry as you have your whole running life ahead of you! Your graduation run is just one run of many to come (thinking of it like that may take the pressure off a little bit). It's only an extra two minutes from last week, the programme has prepared you for it so you CAN do it, it just depends when you feel mentally and physically ready. Enjoy your last two runs of the programme and then you can enjoy running life post-graduation!
Beelady , the whole process has taken me over 3 months with lots of repeats, but today I've done it😊 Take care of yourself, listen to your body, it's a very clever thing! Take as many tomorrow's as you need, no point in hurting yourself 😊
