Stay focused, stay positive and use this site for great support. I have only been a member for a week and wish I had joined when I started at week 1. Good luck.

I am really amazed that the program works... I have gone from doing nothing to being able to jog and jog for 20 minutes. I have followed the program but at my pace...some times I repeated weeks to build confidence. I am three months in and I am chuffed to pieces. This site has motivated me and encouraged me to believe in myself. Without these guys I would be doing w5 r2 again for about the 10th time.... stick with us. :)

Oh that's fantastic, I'm so pleased for you. It gives me hope that I can maybe manage it.xx

take it slow and steady, its not a race build up at your own pace and if you ever need to repeat a week that fine, all it will do is make you stronger. good luck and keep us posted.

Thank you for the tips, encouragement and support. I am actually hopeful about this. I'm definitely going to take it slow because I have joint issues especially in my knees but I'm feeling positive I can do this even if I need to repeat and repeat and repeat..... lol xx

It is Dippydoable! Honestly. I have a left knee problem and a fused sacroiliac joint. Slow is the secret :) I've repeated a couple of weeks (one more than once) and have added in extra rest days where needed. I would never have made it this far without the support on this forum though. It is truly epic! You may not be convinced of it yet but the truth is You CAN Do this! Looking forward to hearing how you get on :)

Welcome!

Keep it slow and steady, follow the programme and take your rest days - more than one if you feel you need it. Learn a good stretching regime to do after each run which helps with the stiffness.

You'll need decent running shoes and if female, a good supportive sports bra is essential.

Come here for inspiration and support when you need it.

Good luck!

Thanks and yes I'm going to be needing a very good sports bra!! So far there have been lovely supportive comments and I wasn't sure I would even get a reply! I'm going to do this.xx

This forum is amazing - always supportive (even if that means administering a quick kick up the backside!) , often comical and sometimes quite emotional. Post of your progress and someone will always be around to cheer you on!

Welcome aboard Dippy ! Yes it certainly is do-able !

Most of us started off EXACTLY the same place you are now , having not exercised since the dreaded PE at school !

We all get it, we know all those feelings of nervousness and apprehension too well, but yes do it ! You will be amazed how far you will progress, it is truly life changing.

Yes I would agree, don't worry if you have to repeat any runs, there is no time limit and rest days are really important too !

Keep posting on here , as its a great way of recording how far you have come . Plus the support on here is second to none !

Good Luck , you can do this xxx

I would get focussed on walking loads, if you haven't for a while... Then progress to C25k when you can comfortably walk for 3 miles.... Good luck :)
