How does Laura know how you are feeling? For weeks now she seems to say exactly the right thing at the right time to encourage and motivate me. Ok ... sometimes she's a bit ambitious - I certainly was not going to speed up for that last minute the other day and told her so in no uncertain tones, but most of the time she is spot on. Today I did week 7 run 1 and was a bit nervous at this - no more walk break intervals. She knew! She also suggested I tried a different route which I had already planned to do!
I ran out the village for the first time on a farm road parallel to the main road, the A9. The traffic on the dual carriageway was noisy but hidden from me by a huge hedge covered in blossom and flowers . The other side was open countryside , rolling hills, and amazing wild flowers in stunning colours . I had no energy to take a photo while running though but it was beautiful I felt grateful to be able to run in such a stunning place and even the never ending undulating road seemed pretty lying ahead of me . Up and down past the farm entrances and up right to the dead end , turned round at the final farm yard and ran back . Noticed wild raspberries at the side and stretched out to pick one but my coordination failed - I need to keep up my gentle running rhythm ! Laura was spot on again encouraging me with the breathing and the need to take in more oxygen to fuel my muscles Back to the village and an amazing honey suckle I could smell the sweet scent as I ran past and Laura says one minute left - give it all you can - this time I did! Luckily this was slightly down hill so ran down - my cheeks as bright as my fluorescent pink running top! Then back to walking through the village home meeting a man and an adorable beagle dog and only just resisting the urge to shout "I've just ran for 25 minutes"!! Who would have thought?
Thank you Laura!
I really never thought when I started c25k in March this was possible. Now I can see my getting to graduation!!
Wow sounds like you had a great run in pretty countryside, I don't know how she does it !
I did week 9 run 1 this morning along the river, not as pretty as your route sounds, but again I was feeling pretty hot and tired and energy was flagging but Laura came I. At the right times to keep me going.
Do you take water with you? I don't but am wondering if I should especially as the runs get longer.
Well done on your run- running by a river sounds ace. I have some short stretches by streams on my usual route. Maybe that's what makes me want a drink!
Good luck with week nine! You are so nearly there!!
Few weeks to go yet but I will keep you posted. Hoping to graduate before holiday in Brittany last two weeks August but know I may need to repeat runs or take more rest days!
You are doing really well and that graduation run is not far off now. Sounds like a pretty route too. I bet you get the timing right for the raspberries next time!🍇
Week 7 really gets you doesn't it? It's like after all the "I don't know if I can do this" thoughts, the "I think I might be able to graduate" thoughts start creeping in. Fantastic!
