Hi new on here, still trying to figure out how it all works

... and are you wanting to run C25K?

hi the c25k is a great programme if you want to start running and this forum will give you lots of support and answer any questions you have, re your age you are certainly not alone and we seem to have more mature runners than youngsters here, and many of the mature ones are older than you!

Hi and welcome to the community. This forum exists primarily for new runners working their way through the NHS C25k training programme, but there are many graduates of the programme, some of whom have run up to marathon distance, and we all share our experiences in a supportive and positive manner.
Advice and support are yours for the asking.

Welcome.
It's simples...
1) Download the NHS Couch to 5k C25k podcasts to your phone (or MP3 player)
2) Run 3 times per week, listening to the podcast as you do so. Take a rest day between runs.
3) About 9-12 weeks later, you'll be running for 30 minutes three times per week: 'Graduation'. You may (or may not) be running for 5km but it doesn't matter.
4) Read and post here every day
5) Welcome to the rest of your life: Enjoy recreational running, parkrun, intervals, hill running, trail runs and/or train for 10km or HM or marathon.
6) Enjoy increased wellness, health, longevity and serenity.
