no one's going to take me alive

the time has come to make things right.

as that weird Muse chappie sings.

So today I did:

100 box jumps

100 pullups

10 x 100metre Farmers carry with 48 kg in each hand

100 kettlebell swings 16 kg

100 Front squats 50kg

10 x 100 metre lunge with overhead 15kg

after that I had sweated out every drop of moisture in my body so had none left for tears and had mortified the flesh enough to assuage my guilt. Who says overtraining is a bad thing?

Had a fairly peaceful dy after that. Actually managed to eat solid food. Had a really difficult meeting and was able to make some truly horrible decisions calmly and rationally.

going to go for a slow 10k with dog this evening and hopefully may even get some sleep.

You sound as if you are literally beating yourself up. Cut yourself some slack, young man, whatever happened is certainly not all your fault and even if it was, you must learn to forgive. Tears are also healing. But it's probably too early and if physical exercise is your way of dealing with it, then that's how it is. Sleep well, tough guy.

Big deal. My day went something like:

Had breakfast.

Went back to bed.

Ran a gentle 6K.

Ate some cake.

I will do some squats later though, promise.

Take care, Rig.

Sounds to me like you are an injury waiting to happen. Be gentle with yourself so you don't end up on the IC. What's going to keep you sane then?

Sorry it's so bad for you right now. Seems like your way of dealing with it is taking on exercising for the whole forum! As Iben says be careful, last thing you need is the *whisper it* ic

Hope you come out of all this stuff smelling of roses very soon.

aargh! You cannot be serious. Don't know what has happened in your life and you know how best to cope with it but take care and don't crock yourself up please. Pretty please?

Sometimes it helps to let off steam through exercise. You are one of the forum members on here who know their limits, I hope it helps with whatever is going on. You know we could only dream of those sort of reps with that sort of weight. Good luck.

You know what you're doing when it comes to exercising, so do whatever you need to in order to get through this rough period.

I hope you'll be able to leave it behind you as soon as possible and, in the meantime, I wish you soothing sleeping nights.

Sometimes fighting every step is the best plan but sometimes you just have to give in and let some time pass and trust your inner strength to carry you through - don't beat yourself up when you get to that point, all part of healing. Most of all look after yourself. Everyone on here is rooting for you.

I hope you slept, Rig. Take care of yourself because it sounds like you have to take care of others as well.

I hope today is better x

People like you and the people of this forum are like that, amazing people who it is easy to forget exist in this universe. I really hope you are OK!

Lesser soles would turn to drink so I think you've chosen the least harmful route to stress relief and only you know what your body can take. Just log on and unload when you feel able to, we are all here to support each other, whatever the need. Sending a virtual hug your way, you sound like you need it from a distance!

And yes, I know it should be souls, but soles seemed more appropriate on a running forum!

Was thinking of you twice today Rig: Went for a run this morning and got a bit tired and thought "now if I did lots of squats like Rig advise, I would be able to kick my legs up and forward a lot more and I would not be tired. Then while trying to climb back into my backyard I had to pull myself up by the arms. I thought if I was doing more squats, like Rig, I could just jump up and in....

It looks like you have found a solution for dealing with what life throws at you. Excercises clear the mind they say.

Hey Rignold , you gotta do what you gotta do , you will come out the other side ..

I have just read your previous post and now understand your reaction... but beating yourself into the ground won't make things any better, be careful. Run, lift and squat but please be kind to yourself. Sometimes time out and quiet are part of the process too., and funnily enough that thinking time is the last thing we want to do but the first thing that's necessary to get back on our feet after a tough time. Take care.

Blimey Rig - whatever it takes but don't be too hard on yourself. I hope you get some good sleep.

Oh Rig, I'm not sure what to say, I guess nothing will take away whatever pain your suffering. Yes, as PP says whatever gets you through....I would probably be the same, but on a much smaller scale. We're all thinking of you, cyber hugs coming your way xxx
