Yes, but the child doesn't get twisted ankles, sore knees and hips, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis etc. Nor are they carrying heaps of extra weight (normally) and after a couple of months they are normally successful and as good as any other child their age. They don't have to struggle for months and years to reach a decent level!

To be really 'deep and meaningful', I'm running to compete in a charity 5k to raise funds and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. My son fought his hardest to walk and succeeded aged 22 months but the condition took him back off his feet age 8
Some days I could slap him for that daily inspiration he provides
