Aches and Pains

Hello All

Just after some advice/suggestions. I have painful hips sometimes during but usually after running. It goes after a nice hot bath or shower. Also noticed it today when I went for a walk.

Any advice/suggestions on what I can do pre/post run to ease/eliminate this.

Thanks in advance.

Joanne :o)

Stretch! If you google Post Run Stretches the NHS suggested stretches are top of the results. The stretch isn't just to cool down after this run, it will help you with your next one.

I never bother stretching beforehand, just walk to get the blood pumping.

Thank you Sarah and if I'm already stretching? Stretch some more? 😋

And also keep trying new stretches, I've recently been doing some Pilates stretches and they are very relaxing in front of the TV.

Don't just look for a stretch for what aches. I have one tight hip (old war wound, lol) and the physio just this week suggested that something called McKenzie exercises would help. I found some on Youtube. Although they are for backs, they lengthen the muscles that connect the spine to the front of the hip. Often when something is tight it is because another muscle is slacking off. As the tight one gets looser, the lazy muscle has to start pulling its weight.

Not what you're looking for?
