Always have a rest day and hopefully you will be good to go after that. You can expect to feel it if you'require unused to exercise. Things are changing ☺

Check out the pinned posts for the NHS guides to how to run and stretch correctly. There's a link there to a load of knee strengthening exercises. You should also try R.I.C.E. - Rest, Ice, compression and Elevation -they work wonders!

God, yeah! Rest days are sacrosanct in these parts.

Are u having rest days between runs, these are needed for good repair and recovery? I found that stretch and flex exercises stretched out my knees - squats for example. I also like to do a little cycling when I can, I have found it allows my knees to flex and move more freely than running

Phil, well done! Go slow & steady, You'll probably get a few minor aches & pains, have rest & go with them, they'll fade as you get fitter, but will get little twinges now and again...as you get into running make sure you always stretch well & correctly.
Keep on going!😊
