It is with great pleasure that I post today that my running buddy and I completed W9R3 this morning. I think this might make us graduates yeaaaaaaaaah (huge fanfare). I have run in the past but the last few years I lost my way and mojo, attempted numerous times to restart running but failed miserably. Came across this plan by accident and I am so glad I did, so thank you C25K, thank you bloggers and thank you Laura! My running buddy and I are meeting for a celebratory lunch tomorrow and to discuss how we go forward. In anticipation of this eventuality we both registered for a local 5 mile run (think that equates to 8K) at the end of August. Any tips on how we should train for this welcome. Good luck to everyone starting out, keep to the plan it truly does work. I think the plan is a bit like a driving test - have passed the test so now is when it's down to me to improve, perhaps I will buy a letter 'P' and take part in a park run one thing for sure with the help of this blog I hope to continue running for many years to come! Happy days.
OMG we've only gone and done it!: It is with... - Couch to 5K
OMG we've only gone and done it!
Yippee! My advice: 1 long slow run per week, increasing by half a k Pw, 1 medium pace 5k, and 1 short fast intervals run. Can't fail!!
Congratulations. Well done!
Parkrun is a must. You can run for 30 minutes. You should at least be able to repeat that at parkrun by running for 30 minutes again and then walking the rest of the way. The usual advice is not to extend your distance by more than 10% per week at this stage, but by running and walking (if necessary) you can probably do parkrun now as long as your 30 minutes took you at least 3.5K. Establish a goal to work towards. In many cases, parkrun makes a good initial goal after C25K.
Well done on your graduation.
I did a parkrun for my graduation run and despite it taking me 55 minutes everyone was very kind and supportive of me. Good luck with your next running experiences.
Congratulations to you both! Hope you've applied for your graduation badge. Hope you keep up the good work.
Congratulations it's the best feeling isn't it !! I look forward to hearing what you do next and agree Park Run is an obvious thing to aim for after graduation It is my aim !
Congratulations to both of you
Well done HR (and running buddy) and congratulations.
Congratulations to you both! Celebrate in style.
