2nd time in the park...

At the begining of the week I invested in new shoes and went for a jog/walk in the park. First time outside and completed 6k in 50 or 55 mins. Wasn't sure where the path was going and did have to double back at one point. Friday I went back to shops to get a jacket, gloves and tops for wearing. Went straight from shop to park and completed the jog/walk again. 44 minutes.

I have really enjoyed this weeks efforts. Treadmill planned for tomorrow, just the normal 5k. Unbelievably assuming I get it completed I will have jog/walked 17k. I mean really. It's fairly amazing to be honest.

I think I now need to build up to getting the 6k more jogged then walked and the look at increasing the distance to get up to 10k. I was really worried about being outside but so far am loving it. Am definitely going to keep going with the treadmill as I will be a very fair weather jogger. Not in the rain. Snow on the ground and wind, no worries. Need to find a way of recording my time better. Mobile phone in pocket......

Yippeeee.

Running outside is so much better than a treadmill run. Your doing really well. Just increase your jogging time and lessen your walk time gradually before increasing your distance.

Ran for much longer today round the park loop before walking. Trying to keep my walking to the sloping sections as I find that difficult (worried I am going to slip on the slopes). 6k 44 mins. Beter

marvellous keep at it,

If you have an internet enabled phone you can download Runkeeper or Mapmyrun, or quite a few others, but I don't think they will work on a treadmill. Why not try running outside in different weathers? Surely you don't want to waste all you new kit?...
