Congratulations, Weiss. You've started. That's a huge step you've made. Just keep it up. Sometimes it will be easy. Sometimes it will be hard. Don't move ahead too quickly. However, if you come to the end of a week and it still seems hard, just repeat it. You don't have to finish in 9 weeks - take as long as you need. Just remember to keep at it.
Thanks AdamB for the encouragement. I'll keep that in mind. I was just downloading the podcasts from NHS, and was baffled for a moment to see the week 5 progress(steep!) and doubted myself for awhile. No turning back now
Worry about week 5 when you get to week 5. You'll find that, by the time you've been through the previous 4 weeks, it won't seem anywhere near as bad. The programme is progressive. For now, just think about getting through week 1 and then stepping up to week 2.
Well that's the hardest part done! Now you've just got the running to do! Keep coming on the forum as there are loads of lovely people on here to advise and encourage.
Welcome weiss. I found C25K at the beggining of September age 51. Since school I thought that I hated running, but immediately on starting C25K I found that I love it. I only wish that C25K was around and that I'd found it when I was 21 !
Listen closely to Laura, does as she say's, and no more, and all will be well. It really is an excellent program, which eases you into running such that you become hooked, rather than it becoming a chore.
Everyone on here will tell you begin your runs slowly, a light jog. If you feel you have more in the tank towards the end of the run then push harder if you want to.
The important thing is to enjoy it, and not get injured so you have to stop.
I'm jealous you've found it so soon - took me til I was 27 (and badly depressed) to discover by mistake that I LOVE running. I started last spring and can now manage 10 miles across country, so it's really achievable! Am now plotting for a 21 mile endurance run in September, and when I started out I struggled to jog for 5 minutes. It's fab!
good for you weiss you have started on the right path take each week.run as it comes dont look to far ahead .. Dont doubt yourself and beleive in the program as it does work whether it takes 9 or 19 weeks
There's a really nice post on here somewhere, all the graduates posted their tips for new runners...I'll see if I can find it...

I can't find it, sorry. It was started by Realfood club, I'd have thought it would be a pinned post... maybe someone else can find it...
