I started my running journey a year ago today ... Completed my first 10k in May in a very respectable 1h3mins (having had a burst ovarian cyst 2 weeks before!) ... Ran Race For Life in 28mins .... Then started using RunKeeper at the start of June and logged 206 miles between then and December
Unfortunately I have been laid up since 3rd January after badly spraining my ankle whilst out doing interval training ... I had to have it x-rayed last week, which was 'mostly' clear!! I seem to have torn the ligaments and have been advised it will take at least 6 weeks to recover and even longer to get back to running ... But I will be back, I miss it terribly, but hey ho, it could have been worse!! Desperate to run x

Sorry about your injury. You must be terribly fed up but hopefully it won't be too long before you're back out there. While you're laid up you could get busy planning some races and forming some training plans
Congratulations! Sorry about your ankle - that has made me think I should take extra care as I have just started doing some fast and slow interval training. I would hate not to be able to run! Hope you recover soon.
When my husband arrived to 'recover' me he did question why I was running full pelt down quite a steep hill! But it's something I've done countless times before as my regular 'Speed' route ... And I do keep reminding myself it could have been a lot worse
You had such a good running year in 2014, it's really hard when you have to stop. I can empathise, had almost 3 months off last April to June then just before xmas started to have probs with my left hip :(. Take the time out though, and come early spring you will be out having fun again!
Exactly ... I was given a bunch of daffodils last week, which epitomise the promise of Spring for me! Happy running x
What a shame about your ankle, it must be a very bad sprain to keep you out for so long. Maybe you can find another sport to be passionate about, swimming maybe?
Congratulations on your anniversary! What a shame about your ankle. Listen to all the experts' advice, be patient and you will be out there again stronger than ever.
You poor thing. I hope you get better very soon. I had a very similar experience in that I graduated and ran for a year, before pulling a hamstring which took over 2 months to heal properly. I then had to build up the running slowly again. But to look on the bright side, it has made me much more sensitive to 'listening' to my body and I hope will make me a better and safer runner in the long term. Good luck with you recovery. Take it slowly and you will see, you will be back on form in no time, even if it seems long at the moment.
