Welcome to the 6th week of the Turn Back Time Quest.
A description of what the quests are about is below.
My apologies for the early posting of the quest this week, but I have just found out that I have to go away for a couple of weeks so I am running round a bit today and am off tomorrow. I will be keeping up with the quest while I am away but probably will not have as much internet access as I do at home.

The description of what the Quests are about are below.
What the quest is:-
The quest takes six weeks. You can join any time within that six weeks.
The main aim of the quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you will be a graduate or about to graduate to join the quest. The main reason I ask this is that while you are doing the program your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.
Every week I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.
So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put
I would like to join the quest, or count me in and then I would like to. ..............
Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the quest until the end.
At the end, only for those that would like to, we each put out longest run of the quest and it is then marked on a virtual run we are doing from John O Groats to Lands End.
Then it all starts again for another six week Quest.

Not best week Didn't manage any proper swimming or weights in gym - sort of forgot about it oops! Had to stop and walk loads on Thursday run which is unusual for me Just felt funny and lightheaded. Anyway last couple of days just not myself - bit of cold maybe. Think I'm feeling bit better so see what this week brings. We do appreciate all you do with quests rfc. Happy running everyone
I would like to join the quest too! I have just got my registration number for park run today. I am away the next couple of weekends and am very nervous about the whole thing about 'going public' about running and feeling a bit 'exposed' by the idea of running with other people, but within the next 6 weeks I would like to have run with others in my local park run....will post if and when I achieve this!
You go for it Clara. I was so nervous the first time and my plan was to run first 3k and walk the rest but managed to run all 5 k . Just watch you don't get carried away at start and go too fast. And no matter what your time you will have a new park run PB Good luck
Well today I ran 21.14km which is going to be my official longest run for this Quest period. I certainly have no intention of running any further in the next week or two.
Wednesday was first ever non stop 10k and under the hour (59:43) Today ended up being 4.3k - my towpath had been taken over by a fishing match that I just couldn't be a***d to run through. I must be mellowing in my old age, gone are the days when riding a bike with dodgy brakes through a match was a sport
Trying for 2 x5k's early in the week as next Sunday is Poppy Run day - first ever race other than one Parkrun. Not sure whether to be scared or excited!
Good luck miss wobble for your half, and everyone else with your running
My battle with the hills continues. To my surprise a positive attitude helps a lot. I have tackled a few that previously I thought 'no way'. Not done anything really steep yet - I am leaving them for future positive thinking!
I've done my 5k race. So for this last bit I'm going back to focusing on the hills. Those blasted hills. Good for the body. Less so for the spirits. But onwards and upwards, if I do better than last time I'm a happy camper. Happy questing folks.
Count me in. A difficult few weeks at home and work, and I just need motivation to keep running. I'm out 5 days a week at the moment: focus is on speed and stamina. I need to get back to including one long run each week.
This week has not gone particularly well except that I had two runs and ticked off one of the two interval sessions I wanted to get done during this quest. I'm finding it hard to recover from my meetings the week before last and then was smashed flat emotionally by the loss of our little cat. Thank you for all the support with that, it is appreciated. We took him to be cremated yesterday morning which meant being up and out very early on a Sunday morning. Went for a walk and a good view whilst we waited. I think overall I have fallen short of my 150 minutes activity target but not drastically so.
Thanks, Rfc. Things aren't going too well here after my Run or Dye - I've been flattened with bronchitis so I've swapped running for inhalers etc. at the moment I'm just a bit worried about being fit enough for the Poppy Run on 2nd November.
Anyway, I hope everyone else is doing well with their running and training, and if you're on the injury couch then I wish you a swift recovery.
I managed my 3 runs this week. Am increasing my distance very slowly for one run and tried my own version of intervals for one of the others. Had to stop after 25 minutes cos I was done it. No yoga, my teacher is on holiday and I didn't even look for my dvd. Had two nieces ( 19 and 22) staying for the last 3 days so that's been a bit hectic. Good fun though. Going to try a running club on Wednesday thanks to Rona ( Fitfor60 ) sending me the details and encouraging me. Am also going to try the galloway method - running/walking on a 3 minute to 1 minute ratio later on this morning to see what it feels like. Have a great week all
Oops, I never even thought that the weather might be bad! Fingers crossed as of now
Just completed "Stepping stones" for the first time, that was quite a buzz! Thought I'd worked out my route, but was surprised that I had to go quite I bit further than I'd planned! My next run will be to the doc's surgery to pick up a prescription, about 3.5K each way with a little rest in the middle! Quite useful this running, I'd normally drive there! I'm so enjoying my runs now I'm home, so many pretty places to go!
Have been roughly on target, have kept my parkrun time down (it is nearly killing me mind!), managed to up my distance a little but have eased back last few weeks as I was getting niggles. Big fail is that I have not managed to fit pilates, bad me, must do better!
Achieved! First Park Run this morning! Perfect conditions: friendly crowd, sunny, predominantly flat Tarmac course. I was 163rd in a personal best time of 33 minutes 18secs. Happy
