Has weight loss been a benefit of doing the c2... - Couch to 5K
Has weight loss been a benefit of doing the c25k for others. My aim is to tone and trim Would love to hear others experiences thx
I can't really comment on weight loss, but running is brilliant for toning. About week 5 or 6 I started noticing a real difference in the shape and definition of my legs and bum, and my whole body just feels much more efficient and strong. I do also think the confidence you get from knowing that you *can* do it - that your body will do what you ask it to - really makes you enjoy living in your skin, and makes you carry yourself better. Keep going!
Hi Getfitmum, I have definitely lost weight, slowly and steadily whilst doing C25K, over a year, I also took up hula hooping - which definitely works and just altered my eating habits a little. I have dropped 1 to 2 dress sizes (depending where you shop) and I haven't turned into a stick, it's just the wobbly bits where you don't want wobbly bits have shrunk! Meaning clothes fit and look better, I am definitely more toned, legs especially (of course!) I recall one post that was entitled 'calves of steel!' That just about sums it up! Really happy with what the programme has done for me despite issues with painful feet.
Hope that's helpful, keep going, it will be worth it.

Hi, I have noticed a slow weight loss but people keep saying they can really tell I have lost loads (although according to the scales not really that much) and my body shape has changed. My clothes are fitting much better and some even got too big! Also my skin has improved and people are noticing how much healthier I am looking. I never realised how much of a difference running 3 times a week would make! Good luck
Yes I'm another one toning the wobbly bits but not really losing weight - maybe 2 - 3 lbs so far and I'm nearly finished week 7. People have begun commenting about how much weight I've lost though, my clothes feel better and I generally feel better about myself. The tape measure doesn't actually say I've lost inches, centimetres or even millimetres, but maybe the wobbly bits are just spreading out a bit. Who knows, but for now I'm happy that my thighs have a muscle in and I can feel it.
I promise you GetfitMum you're going to look great on your holiday. In 9 weeks you could complete C25K and you'll lose _some_ weight. I've only really lost 4kg since late Feb (started C25K 8 weeks ago) but my clothes feel quite baggy now. Really, I need trousers a size smaller but I'm too mean to buy then right now (in case I need something even smaller in a few months). People comment about how much weight I've lost, but it isn't much. I think toned muscle weighs more than fat
Some of the graduates have found that the weight-loss increases after completing C25K. I suspect that once you've built up some toned muscle, then the fat burn-off continues and you lose more weight again. I've found muscles in my upper legs I've never seen before
I have really only lost about 3-4 Kg over the past 6 months of running -- BUT I have lost 6-7 inches from around my waist!!! I can actually see my toes now!!
Ok I did this to tone up and although I could do with some weight loss I don't need to lose loads but I do need to tone what I have!! I am just starting week 6 and although no actual weight loss I have been told how good I look but can't say I have noticed loads, I think if you want to lose weight and get fit then need to do diet and running if you want to tone then come to right place I think!! Good Luck X
Im wk 2 day 2 and combined with slimming world have lost 11Ibs. This has definately helped and having measured all the 'big'(!) areas they have decreased in size too...
