I'm looking to write an article for the NHS Choices website about people who have completed Couch to 5K and gone on to do regular parkruns. It's a chance to promote parkrun to a broader audience. If interested, please message me directly.

I started C25k April 2013 and graduated in July. Since then I have been running and keeping fit generally. Latest acconplishment was running the Bupa London 10k and I am a regular Parkrunner. Our local run started last October and I have completed 26 now and volunteered 3 times. I go with my husband who has always been a runner and we both LOVE it. Friendly people, non judgmental about ability or age and I get such a sense of achievement each and every time (well almost every excepting slower than normal runs when conditions are not the best) I complete one. I am now 62 so certainly no speedster but Parkrun keeps me challenged. It's a great way to kick off the weekend. Parkrun deserves the highest of praise. There's nothing like it!

PS sad to say that I didn't go today but only because there was a HUGE thunderstorm and they scare me to death. husband still enjoyed it though and stalwart volunteers were still out although drenched. Happy to say a new PB for my husband too!
Sent you a message, as you asked for that, but I parkrun. I've volunteered too. As AlexHip78 says, the people are really friendly and the runs are just so inclusive. I love them too and encourage anyone I can to have a go!
Can't see where to message you but I parkrun. Have done 8 now and I volunteer at least once a month. I think it is wonderful. I signed up after I completed C25K but it took another 6 months before I plucked up the courage to go and run. I look forward to it and it is a brilliant start to my weekend. I keep trying to get other people interested, I'm becoming a C25K and Parkrun bore!!
I would echo loulou51! Completed C25k last year and felt that Parkrun was beyond me. I used to see loads of men in shorts gathering for my local Parkrun when I was following Laura and thought it looked too competetive. However with the encouragement of friends ( who are runners) and my husband I have now done 18 and remain really chuffed with myself! Hats off to the organisers, volunteers and all those involved. It is an additional motivator for me to continue with my slow runnung!
