week 6 run 3 !!!! I tried to do the 25 minutes around a big field but omg my legs were in agony! I think they still haven't recovered from Tuesdays jog which involved some hills, but I did feel like giving up and in the end 6 minutes from the end I just power walked because it just hurt so much! hints and tips please!

I often run round a cricket field and find it so much harder than running along the canal or on pavements. The grass seems to provide a lot of resistance and really slows me down, particularly when wet. To run for 19 minutes is brilliant, so don't be hard on yourself!

Make sure you don't start off too fast. It really is important to take it slow. You are right, running on grass or off paths/roads is definitely more taxing - this is why trail runs are more of a challenge. You were so close last time - despite the extra effort of running on grass. I'm sure you will make it the next time. Let us know how you get on!

Good luck!

I've also tried running on grass and found it hard going, so I've gone back to the pavement. I find varying my route helps a great deal, I'm lucky, in that where I live we have lots of paths that go past either lakes, bushland or the beach. But at the end of the day it is still hard work, I'm only just in front of you, tomorrow I'm onto Week 7, run 2. I think I repeated week 6, run 2 about seven times before I conquered it! But as Laura's says it's about building strength and stamina, so even if you have to repeat runs it's all helping, plus remember you have come along way from week 1, so being able to run 19minutes nonstop is already a huge achievement......remind yourself of all the progress you have already made and don't beat yourself up. Well done for finding the grit and determination to get this far.....keep it up, you can do it.
