Hi all could I use my garmin 110 for bike rides , will it measure my distance & how many calories I use correctly or is it only for running ? Also seen a cycle computer thing for £4.99 in Aldi , anyone know if there any good . Hope your all ok & enjoying your selves in what ever your doing today

Hi Rockette, it's not designed for bike riding but I dare say it will measure how far and how fast. I use mine for walking. It will pick up the hills and dales so will calculate your calorie burn quite accurately I would have thought. Saves buying something else too. I'd give it a whirl and see how it goes, before splurging £4.99! LOL

I'm running now! 40 mins easy run today. My knees hurt though as I was veg gardening yesterday, and on my knees planting onions. Enjoy your bike ride Rockette!

Hi Rockette, you might need a rest completely to let it get right. A holiday might be just the thing you need. Enforced rest.

I just did my run but it was pants but never mind. I just got back in the house and my neighbour turned up with the dog. They weren't due til after tea, so my plans have gone out the window cos I have to walk the dog now rather than later. Oh well, no rest for the wicked

You'll be fine for then Rockette. Ooooops shouldn't have said that! I should have said go and see your GP so as not to upset the plod!

Just got back in from walking the dog. We went miles (11.39 km) The dog is now flaked out on the sofa! I'm having a well earned cuppa. I've done over 18 km today and it's not over yet. Oh well, I'll sleep well tonight

No, I took him out again and we'll have a short walk before bed. I take him out about 11.30 pm so he will hopefully lie in tomorrow morning. He often gets me up at five a.m. Tut

Hi Rockette, I've also got a Garmin 110 and use it for running, walking and also on my bike. You can see your speed (roughly) as your going along and can download as normal. I just ignore the calorie thing - to be honest I don't really take notice of that even for the running. Happy cycling. :)
