Convert beats per minute to km per hour

I much prefer running on a treadmill to outside. I would like to know how to convert the suggested beats per minute to speed on the treadmill i.e. Convert bpm to km/hr. Does anyone know how to so this?

Hmm. I am not sure you can do this unless you know your stride length. For example if your stride length is 1 metre exactly and you are running at 160 bpm (ie 160 strides per minute) then you would cover 160m per minute which is 1000/160 = 6.25 minutes per km (6:15 when converted to seconds) which in turn is 9.6 km/hr.

A lower bpm would be slower and a longer stride would be faster. Maybe you could try 9.6 km/hr to start and adjust it up/down until you are comfortable at your chosen bpm.

Hope this helps.

If you go to jogfm it converts running time per kilometre to bpm. You might be able to work it out from there.

Are you doing NHS C25K? No suggested BPM on that, not until you've completed the programme, graduated and are doing the NHS C25K+ podcasts.

As ChrisL says, you need to know your stride length, so it's sort of a "personal" calculation. Programs that work on bpm assume that your feet are hitting the ground at that rate (so 160 bpm means 80 right foot hits and 80 left foot). You could measure your stride, but it might be easier to do it empirically:

Set your treadmill to a given speed and set a timer for 1 minute (you might want to have a 10 or so seconds ahead of starting the 1 min count so you will be at full stride). Count how many times your feet hit the treadmill. That will be your bpm (beats per minute or total steps per minute). You can then adjust the treadmill speed up or down and measure for one minute again if you need a higher or lower bpm. If you record these speeds and bpm, you will be able to follow a plan that's dictating bpm.

Hopefully that helps : )

Hi. Recently I needed to download music from YouTube, but I absolutely didn't know how to do it. I started looking in Google for something that might help me and came across a website. Which converts YouTube videos to MP3 audio format youtube-mp3.me/pt-br/pt-br-2/
