Parkrun

For those not in the know this takes place in almost every city in the uk at nine am on Saturday, it for people at all levels of abilities and is a supervised run, it is not a race although there are some that go for good times. You can run/walk it and all you will receive is encouragement. Look it up online and get on down there. My first run was 50 minutes for three miles, can do it in 32 now. People even run their dogs in it. Usually a turnout of between a hundred and 300. It is not at all intimidating and very freindly.

The thing that was putting me off was the thought of having to leave my dog behind for a Saturday morning... Perhaps I will give it a whirl if she can come too :)

You can run Parkruns as a member of this forum so your results get flagged up on here. I assume loads of members here are on it. I shall be soon too!

Happy running

Parkruns start at 9.30 in Scotland. Just make sure you register and get your bar code before turning up, taking a printed copy along with you. Its for all ages, abilities and is FREE :)

They start at 7AM here -- 9.30 AM would be too hot, even in winter. In Summer, even 7 AM is too late.
