...and still going, I'm pleased to report! I must admit though, sometimes it has been a struggle to get motivated and I've had to change my routes a bit to keep it interesting, but just when I'm starting to doubt myself I seem to surprise myself with a great run, totally unexpectedly! This afternoon I managed 5k in 34min which included stopping at road junctions and a couple of steep hills, so I'm very pleased.
I'm still not entirely decided on what my next goal will be, whether it is improving my speed or my distance, but I will just keep running two or three times a week and see how it goes. I have dropped a full dress size since I started the programme back in August, and although I don't want to lose any more I am motivated now to maintain my new weight.
For anyone just starting out, you will not regret it and it can really change your life for the better. I feel fitter and healthier than I have done in a loooong time! Happy running

Great to hear you are still out there running and getting in so well too. 5 k in 34 minutes is my current goal. I can do it in 36.5 minutes at the moment but that extra 2.5 minutes seems like an awful lot at the moment. I have just joined the ' Xmas quest ' and have identified 3 goals I want to achieve by 15th December . Have a look at realfoodieclub's post yesterday for more info.
Well done! I have printed the bupa half marathon training plan and I'm working towards that slowly. I don't have any plans for a half marathon but I need to work towards something or I'll just get bored and quit!
I amazed myself that I managed to do a Zombies, Run mission last night with zombie chase switched on (interval training) and I managed to evade all the zombies and complete a 30 minute run
34 mins!? Wow! Amazing time, well done. I have only just completed and have been worried about motivation, but seeing you get to 34 is a reason for me to keep trying. I'd enter into a 5k or maybe even a 10k if I were you, keep the motivation going
Thanks all, I have thought about a race but there aren't any park runs near me, and not sure I'm ready for a 10k yet (mentally at least!). Think I'll just try and work on my speed - I set myself a new challenge of reaching 32 mins as part of Realfoodieclub's Xmas quest (thanks Lizziebeth!) so that should keep me focused for a while!
Zombies, Run is an app on your phone and it tells a story as you run. It's just a bit of fun to make runs less boring. You can turn zombie chase on which is interval training - you have to increase your speed by 20% for one minute or the zombies get you!
