A relaxed and friendly measured and timed 5km run (it's not a race) around a park. I've done 4 different ones and loved them all. Brilliant concept.

Laura is the voice of the podcasts. She tells you when to run/walk and guides you through the programme. You may shout at her sometimes but trust her! She'll get you through the nine weeks and make you a runner!
Thanks for info I was wondering what a park run was, well its something to aim too
Oh thanks all for the helpful information, is there any link for the podcasts in here so I can reach them easily?
parkrun is great! Just sign up once (use the link that Landesman provided) and print off your personal barcode. Then turn up at 9.00 on a Saturday (9.30 in Scotland) at any of over 200 parks in the UK and run/jog/walk 5k. Later that day, you'll get a text telling you your time. If you tell the Run Director that you're doing the couch to 5k programme, I can guarantee you'll get loads of support. I started parkrunning about 5 years ago, when I couldn't manage even a full minute running. I've now done two marathons (still run/walking!) and lead my own Couch to 5k group. Go on... give it a try.
