It was very cold, wet windy and generally not very nice today, typical summer weather in the North East. I was making great progress and generally enjoying myself thinking 'this is getting much easier', right up until the half way point. The point where I turn around and head for home. I had deliberately saved the seafront stretch for the return leg to provide some interest to distract me from being cream crackered, great plan! As soon as I turned onto the sea-front I was met by a raging hooligan of a wind and suddenly I was running through treacle. To add insult to injury my earphones kept blowing out of my lugs, and my cap was in danger of heading off to Norway. So cap in pocket I struggled along the prom stuffing Laura back into my windward lug every 10 seconds. To say I was relieved to hear her say, 'Well done, that's it' is a bit of an understatement to say the least. I swear I could hear the treadmill sniggering when I got home.
Anyhow, I survived. So if my calculations are correct, the next run will take me over the half way line of the C25K programme.
I have noticed a significant difference in my fitness, I now have a little bit of it.
