Running slower ...........

Over the weekend I completed W8R3,

For the first two runs of W8 I was getting a really bad pain in my calf and had to stop to stretch it two or three times, this was getting frustrating because although I stopped the podcast and I was still running 28 mins I felt I hadn't fully completed it.

After having a look on here I realised I wasnt alone and took on board the advise to run slower, and guess what -IT WORKED! :)

I think I was trying to run too fast, I forget that 9 weeks ago I was struggling to run for a minute and maybe my body is slower catching up than my mind!

Thank you to all for your advise and support throughout the last 9 weeks, I am due to run W9R1 this evening (slowly) and I am so excited about getting so close to graduation :)

Yup, slow and steady is usually the answer to a lot of the problems we all face!

I did my W8R3 this morning, buffeted by the wind. It was actually the very first time I felt reluctant to run, but at least I did it - slowly!

Good luck with your W9R1 run this evening. Soooo close! :)

Ooooo excited for you too Ruby ... we started the same week so we've been through all that grotty weather and are now emerging runners! :)

In retrospect my worst weeks were in the middle: I guess we all have different 'stink weeks' LOL. But you're very close to the finish post now... keep going - slowly! And yes, look how far we've come :D Linda

Yay! Slow and steady rules the day! Look - I've put my old avatar back for a bit! :)

Glad it's working for you - you'll speed up again once you've graduated, if you want to.
