I had a fall in work three days ago and broke my wrist in three places. I had to have a plaster cast applied but I can’t stop worrying that my skin will rot or tear as I have really thin skin. Has this happened to anyone else?

Thin skin and plaster cast
Sorry to hear about your fall Lynda - at 85 I'm a bit wobbly on my feet but have luckily not broken any bones - yet. However, I also have delicate skin due to medication for COPD - and have tripped/slipped/fallen three times in the past six months since my hospitalisations.
These resulted in me stripping the skin from my forearms- and having to attend my local surgery weekly to have dressings applied/changed.
So be careful. As you say ... our COPD skin can be very delicate even for an 85 year old former miner.
I broke my wrist end of January and had a fiberglass cast put on for 3 weeks. I also have very thin skin and very small bones. The cast made black and blue marks from rubbing against my skin so I used cut up Egyptian towel pieces to place in-between the cast and my arm. Be prepared for physical therapy after cast removal - painful long process. Text me if you'd like to complain together 😀
