I tried grooming my dogs myself I had a terrible reaction I couldn’t breath!! That’s when I realized how the dogs were affecting me. They always slept with me they now sleep in the den! My breathing improved. They have gotten used to it and it definitely helped me

Could be the pet dander, maybe wash the dog first?

I understand about the cost, for my pup its $40 each time. I try to set $20 aside one month, add $20 the next month, and then get her clipped. That $40 kinda hurts.

Animal dander is bad for already weak human lungs! A lady who bred and sold Dashounds told me that before selling her pups she always asked potential buyers if they or anyone in their family had asthma or any type of respiratory issues. She said that animal dander contains a molecule, a protein that when breathed into one's lungs will cause humans' lung issues to worsen. It is, she said, too sad for animals and families to have to separate, because they learned too late that a family member is too sensitive to dog dander to have an inside pet. We had the loveliest and most loving black lab. She passed away in 2009. She lived inside the first two years we had her before we discovered that I was allergic to her dander. She had a dog castle outside, but it was sad she had to move out after getting used to always being inside with family. That was many years ago, long before I discovered my current lung problems. (Will return to pulmo next week to hopefully get completed diagnosis.) J.
