Hi i have not posted in a while. Loads of changes of having to live with stoma. Nearly 9yrs ago, my journey started. Always having problems with leaking bag, tried so many alternatives and different resources. Still to this day problems. Not only leaking but over 2yrs I have been in a server pain. How can I describe, as I have been saying to different consultant ( open wound throwing acid on it.Each time told not heard of this pain relating stoma. The pain is coming direct and it's got so bad that it's effecting my mental state. Open to discussion or methods to pain.

Hi Ssrk has there been any talk about reversing your stoma, I do realise that some can’t. Just wondering if you have talked to the dietitian about this, maybe a change in your diet. Good luck it sounds painful.

Stay safe All

have they done a scan on your whole abdomen??? I have had pain for over a year with my stoma however it's on my stomach side. When I was in Sloan for leukemia issues I had a surgery and got an iliostomy too. They tried to get me to sit up to walk. I couldn't too much pain. Doc walks in and decides to order a scan. They found two major infections. TWO! Some things have to be scanned. Or MRI'd. I'm going to private message you what I have been using after leaking in the hospital without leaks. I'll give you brands and placement info and hope will help you. Figured it out myself because I only saw an ostomy nurse in person ONCE! Actually seeing a colon/rectal surgeon this Friday. Hope he can help my issues which are pain and bloating and inability to eat most foods, diet issues (and not that stupid handout they give you when you leave hospital 😡)

I understand. I do. Maybe not the intensity but the constant persistent pain.

Just a note- I bet your bag is not sized correctly for your stoma and leaking contents, especially acidic, are causing the burning 😢😢🙁

Check your chats in a little bit.

❤️🦄
