Follow up Sigmoidoscopy after colonscopy

So, earlier this week I had my 4 month follow up appointment after a 30mm polyp was found in my sigmoid colon back in July.

There was no regrowth of the polyp however a new polyp (3mm) was removed and a diagnosis of diverticulosus.

Was not what i was expecting but hopefully the histology report will come back positive like the last one! Xx

Thanks for posting with us. It is good you're getting things checked out. It's always best to know no matter what the outcome is and you don't have to speculate. Does diverticulosis run in your family?

I do wish you the best in the Histology report. Please let us know what the findings are.

Also, with you're finding of the polyps, what kind of surveillance will you need to be following? I have to get an annual colonoscopy and CT scan with my history. Did your doctor put you on some kind of reoccurring checks?

Hi, I'm unaware if diverticulosus runs in my family and yet to hear what the follow up procedure will be.

I'm guessing that will be after the next histology report and communication with the consultant.

Hi yes it came Saturday- polyp was benign and no further follow up required unless I notice any changes.

Wow, well done, then how about the 30mm polyp? Is that precancerous?

is your 30mm polyp consider precancerous? So do you need to go a colonoscopy after a year?

Nope the 4 month follow up was to check for any regrowth! Xx
