doesn’t look like it as it looks like fresh blood. Fresh blood is always a good sign. The lighter the colour the better. You may have torn something and pushed too hard or it could be IBS, think back to what you ate and what ingredient may have irritated you.

If it’s persistent over a few weeks maybe contact a doctor or even contact a doctor to give you peace of mind. X

It seems you have a marvellous reply from Tom. He knows what he is talking about. Here in the UK we would have a FIT test to see if blood is present in stools. Then a colonoscopy. Are you having any tests after seeing your GP. It is worrying to us but I can only say try to wait and see before you even think about cancer. I hope you have answers soon.

colonoscopy completed today. Grade 2 internal hemorrhoid and one polyp 7mm. All clear. First, thank everyone that replied. Tom your certainly an inspiration. My wife passed away 3 years ago after a 10 year battle with stage 4 cancer. What a fighter she was. I will keep everyone in my prayers. This board is awesome. I would add that MOST people respond with positive encouragement. I would only say that the last 6 months have been incredibly stressful. Largely based on my personal experience with cancer and being the only parent to our son. The only thing I can say for certain is STAY OFF DR GOOGLE. It literally almost drove me to a nervous breakdown. I have lost 15 lbs in 6 months with worry and stress. Tom’s advice is simple and the best of all I read. Get the colonoscopy. It’s really not that bad. The other thing I had to learn the hard way was that symptoms are common but diagnosis are very sporadic. Thank everyone for all the support. My prayers are with you all

Congratulations everything is good, so after the results are out, do you on/off still have some bleeding or totally clear? Never seen bleeding again

Glad everything worked out well. Here in the UK do not have anaesthetic just sedation which did not work for me. Still at least you are told the results straight away. Sorry for the loss of your wife, a brave lady and no wonder you were so anxious. Enjoy the rest of your life with your son.
