hi! I’m 33 female. I recently had a baby three months ago. Never had hemorrhoids before the pregnancy. I started noticing blood in my stool and little blood polyps when I was pregnant. Now, I’ve had her and I’m still seeing blood streaks all in my stool and sometimes just a little blood when I think I have to have a BM. I am making an appointment with my GI specialist tomorrow. I have attached a picture. I hope it’s not too graphic. I apologize in advance if it is. But, I’m nervous about going to the doctor. I have also noticed jelly like substance when I go to the bathroom sometimes too. Any idea what it could be? Could it be from the hemorrhoids? I looked in a mirror the other night and definitely saw hemorrhoids around my anus that were bluish purple ish in color. Then I looked 3 minutes later and they were not visible anymore. TIA.

Hi Moonchild34,

Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. First of all, congratulations on the new baby. That's awesome. I hope the little one is doing well. Now we just need to get momma on the path to being well.❤️ Meeting with your GI specialist will go a long way to doing that.👏👍

What you are experiencing could be caused by many different things. I'm glad to see that you're taking action and getting it checked out. This seems to be the first time you have experienced this. I wonder if it could be pregnancy related? It could be irritated hemorrhoids? It could be a lot of different things. It just needs to be narrowed down.

One thing to make a note of is if there is a family history of medical issues. That would be good information to share with your doctor as well. It could help in selecting test to be administered.

We do wish you the best in determining the cause of what's going on. I hope you get some good answers tomorrow. Please let us know what you find out. That type of information can be helpful to others on this site.

Thank you,

Thank you!! She’s doing great! It may be related to giving birth Vaginally and all the pressure from pushing. Idk. I believe there are internal and external hemorrhoids which is causing the bleeding. I will definitely check back once I have my appt. I will check about family history with these issues as well! Thank you! Have a good day.
